Tingley's Acting Studio is hiring working screen actors to join its contractor coaching roster. The role is fully remote, contract-based, and built around your own working-actor schedule. You will coach adult actors, and young performers where you hold a current child-safety check, in one-to-one video sessions covering audition preparation, self-tape, scene study, cold reading, and accent work.

What you will do

Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-to-one coaching sessions by video to adult actors and, where you hold a current jurisdiction-appropriate child-safety check, to young performers aged 7 to 17.
  • Cover audition preparation, self-tape direction, scene study, cold reading, and accent or vocal work, based on the session brief agreed with the student.
  • Send each student a short written summary within 24 hours of the session: what was worked, what landed, what to rehearse before next time.
  • Maintain your own working-actor practice. Our coaches are current to the industry, not recent to it.
  • Attend a short quarterly roster check-in by video with the head coach.
What we need

Requirements

  • You are currently a working screen actor with at least three on-set credits in the last three years.
  • Verifiable credits on IMDB, Spotlight, Casting Networks, Actors Access, or an equivalent professional industry profile.
  • Native or near-native fluency in spoken and written English, for live session delivery and follow-up notes.
  • A home setup suitable for remote coaching: a camera, a lit room, a quiet background, and a stable internet connection sufficient for clear two-way video.
  • If you intend to coach young performers: a current jurisdiction-appropriate child-safety check (Working with Children Check in Australia, Police Vetting in New Zealand, Vulnerable Sector Check in Canada, DBS Enhanced check in the United Kingdom, or the local equivalent). Documentation sighted before the first session with a minor.
  • Legal right to work as an independent contractor in your country of residence.
Bonus

Nice to have

  • Formal training in Meisner, Chekhov, Stanislavski, Linklater, Fitzmaurice, or another recognised technique.
  • Prior experience coaching in a drama school, private studio, or as an established private coach.
  • Working command of one or more named accents beyond your native register.
  • On-set experience at episodic, feature, or streamer-scale productions.
Safeguarding

If you will coach young performers

This role may involve one-to-one coaching of performers aged 7 to 17 by video. If you intend to coach minors in Canada, you must hold a current Vulnerable Sector Check, issued by the RCMP or the local police service in the applicant’s municipality. Canada does not have a single national check. Authorities, naming, and turnaround vary by province. Documentation is sighted by us before your first session with a minor. See our Child Safe Policy for the full safeguarding framework.

Compensation

How this is paid

Paid per session against a fair rate for your market. Rate is confirmed in the introductory interview and paid monthly for sessions delivered in that period.
