Acting classes in Tasmania at Tingley's Acting Studio are one-to-one sessions serving students in Hobart, Launceston, and regional Tasmania. Coaching is remote over video in local AEDT or AEST. All coaches working with Tasmanian minors hold a current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People issued by the Tasmanian Department of Justice.

Tasmania's screen industry is small but growing, with Screen Tasmania backing local production and an increasing number of international features using the state as a location. Most Tasmanian actors primarily audition for mainland productions via self-tape.
Coaching for young Tasmania actors
We coach performers aged 7 to 17 in one-to-one sessions. A parent or guardian is always in the building, and in the room or an adjacent room depending on the child's age and preference. Session material is agreed with the parent in advance.
All coaches working with Tasmania minors hold a current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People, issued by the Tasmanian Department of Justice. Documentation is sighted by us before the first session with a minor, and by you on request.
Coaching for Tasmania-based adult actors
For adult actors at every stage: pre-representation, signed but underworked, mid-career, and working actors preparing for specific high-stakes auditions. If you have a callback next Friday, we work the callback. If you are preparing a self-tape in 24 hours, we work the self-tape.

What check applies in Tasmania?
Tasmania uses Registration to Work with Vulnerable People, administered by the Department of Justice. It is the equivalent of the Working with Children Check in other states.

How do Tasmanian actors audition for mainland work?
Primarily through self-tape. Most Tasmanian actors build strong self-tape craft because it is the practical path to mainland casting rooms. We weight coaching accordingly.
