How we hire

Our hiring process

  1. Email your application with a short cover note, a link to your current credits, and a link to a recent reel or tape. Use the button below to reveal our hiring address.
  2. A first reply within 5 business days. If the fit looks right, we book a 30-minute video call.
  3. Introductory call with the head coach. We talk about your working-actor practice, your coaching experience if any, and whether the roster is a fit both ways.
  4. A paid trial session with a current Tingley's student. The student gives us, and you, an honest read on the fit.
  5. A decision, either way, within two weeks of the trial. We do not ghost candidates.
Equal opportunity

Who we hire

We hire on working-actor evidence, coaching craft, and fit with our students. We do not discriminate on grounds of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or any other characteristic protected by the law in your country of residence. Where a role requires a jurisdiction-specific check (for example a child-safety check for coaching minors), we disclose that in the role itself.

Contractor status

Independent contractor engagement

All Tingley's Acting Studio coaching, operations, and marketing roles are independent contractor engagements, not employment. You work your own hours, on your own equipment, using your own method. You are responsible for your own tax, superannuation or pension, professional indemnity insurance where required in your market, and any other statutory obligations that apply to self-employed workers in your country of residence. This arrangement is set out in a written contractor agreement before your first session or project.

Frequently asked questions

  • Are these employee roles?

No. All roles at Tingley's Acting Studio are independent contractor engagements. You work your own hours, on your own equipment, and deliver against a session brief. You are responsible for your own tax, superannuation or pension, and insurance in your country of residence.

  • Are all roles remote?

Yes. Every coaching role is delivered over video, worldwide. Operations and marketing roles are also remote. There is no requirement to relocate or to attend a physical office.

  • Do I have to be in one of the listed regions?

We hire contractors in the regions where our students are concentrated, so that session times match our demand. If your region is not listed for a role, email us anyway; we occasionally open additional regions as demand shifts.

  • What child-safety checks are required?

Any coach who sees minors in session holds a current jurisdiction-appropriate check: Working with Children Check (Australia), Police Vetting (New Zealand), Vulnerable Sector Check (Canada), DBS Enhanced (United Kingdom), or the local equivalent. Documentation is sighted by us before the first session with a minor.

  • How long does the application process take?

A first reply within five business days of receipt of your application. A 30-minute introductory video call if your background fits. A trial coaching session, paid, with a current Tingley's student. A contract offer, or a direct no, within two weeks of the trial.

  • What happens to my application data?

Your application is stored in our email and reviewed only by the hiring team. If we do not progress your application, we delete your materials within 12 months unless you ask us to retain them for a future role. See our Privacy Policy for the full retention policy.
